The European Supply Chain Forum (Eindhoven University of Technology) offers an excellent opportunity for professionals to share problems and solutions in the area of Supply Chain Management and design, both for the manufacturing and the service industries. Members of the Forum are able to share thoughts with and learn from other multinational companies.
Through its alliance with the Stanford Forum on Global Supply Chain Management in the USA and the Asian-Pacific Forum on Global Supply Management at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the European Supply Chain Forum provides contacts with leading global players in various industrial sectors. The aim is to have a wide range of industry sectors as members of the Forum. The Forum currently has 27 corporate members, and is able to grow to a maximum of 40 member companies. We strive for three members per industry sector. The Forum offers the opportunity to benchmark against competitors and companies in other sectors. We firmly believe in exchange of competencies between different sectors.
The field of Supply Chain Management and design encompasses operations management, including manufacturing and distribution, process and product family design, strategic purchasing and marketing, and advanced information management to support the foregoing. It deals with issues such as Electronic Business (EB), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Value Added Logistics (VAL), Supply and Demand Driven Logistics (SDL), and Dynamic Networked Business (DNB). Supply Chain Management drives process solutions rather than Silo Management. The issue of Supply Chain Management is the Management of Complexity.
The European Supply Chain Forum gives direct access to the research of leading research institutions such as Stanford, HKUST and Eindhoven University of Technology. It contributes to the development of an European Supply Chain Management research agenda for the next five years, including proprietary research shared only between Forum members. Members of the Forum are offered participation in the Annual Forum Meeting and various workshops, as well as consultancy, throughout the year.
